What the labels mean

Native

The developer ships a Linux version on Steam. Install it and play.

Proton

A Windows game that Steam runs on Linux for you. Only games players rate Platinum or Gold on ProtonDB are listed, so it should just work.

Blocked

The game's anti-cheat refuses Linux in its online modes. A few, like GTA V's story or Ghost of Tsushima's campaign, still run offline; their online side does not.

Getting started

  1. Install Steam from your system's software store.
  2. In Steam, open Settings → Compatibility and turn on Steam Play for all titles. That switches Proton on.
  3. Install a game and press Play. Steam picks the right Proton version for you.

How we built this list

The games come from Steam's top sellers and most played charts plus well-known favourites, 507 in all, checked on October 24, 2026. Native support comes from Steam itself, Proton ratings from player reports on ProtonDB (protondb.com), and anti-cheat status from AreWeAntiCheatYet. Online games change their anti-cheat without warning, so check before you buy one. Spotted a change? Tell us.
